If you’ve landed here looking for an Aquatech discount code, let’s get straight to the important bit:
Use code JASMINE5 for 5% off Aquatech every day of the year.
But before you assume this is one of those posts where someone has been handed some gear and is now going to tell you how wonderful it is… there’s a little more to the story.
I’ve been using Aquatech underwater housings for around 10 years, and I actually bought both my underwater housings myself, at full price.
I’ve used Aquatech throughout my career as an underwater photographer, and the only reason I eventually bought a new housing was because I upgraded my camera.
That, for me, says quite a lot.

I discovered underwater photography in 2016 and pretty quickly realised that if I was going to take it seriously, I needed equipment I could trust.
My first Aquatech housing was purchased for my Canon 5D Mark III. I wasn’t an ambassador at the time, there was no discount code and nobody gave me the housing to try. I simply chose Aquatech because I wanted reliable equipment for the kind of underwater photography I was starting to create.
And for years, it did exactly what I needed it to do.
I’ve taken it into countless shoots, working with women, maternity clients, couples, dancers and creative projects, and I never had a problem with it.
Eventually, though, my camera system changed.
I upgraded from my Canon 5D Mark III to the Canon R6, and that meant it was time for a new housing too.

Moving to the Canon R6 has honestly been a total game changer for my underwater photography.
The mirrorless system has made such a difference to the way I work underwater, particularly when I’m photographing people moving through the water.
Underwater photography is already a little bit of controlled chaos.
You’ve got movement, hair, fabric, bubbles, reflections, changing light and someone trying to hold their breath while looking completely effortless.
The last thing I want to be thinking about is whether my equipment is going to do its job.
I want to be thinking about the photograph.
With the R6, I moved to the Aquatech EDGE Pro housing, paired with the dome port for my Canon RF 15-35mm lens.
One of the biggest reasons I chose the EDGE Pro is something that is really important for the kind of underwater photography I create: access to my camera settings while I’m underwater.
That might sound like a small detail, but it is absolutely vital for my work.
I’m not simply pointing a camera at someone underwater and hoping for the best. My images are created intentionally, and I want to be able to change my settings as the light, movement and creative direction of a shoot changes.
Being able to access my camera controls through the housing means I can adjust things like shutter speed, aperture and ISO underwater rather than being locked into one setup for the entire shoot.
And when you’re creating underwater portraits, that flexibility matters.
I might be photographing a dancer moving quickly through the water one minute, then creating something soft and slow the next. I might want to intentionally drag the shutter, change my depth of field or adjust my exposure as my subject moves through the light.
Having that control means the housing isn’t dictating what I can create.
It lets me use my camera creatively, rather than simply protecting it.
And that is a big reason the EDGE Pro is the housing I’ve chosen for my professional underwater work.

My current Aquatech setup is:
Camera: Canon R6
Housing: Aquatech EDGE Pro
Lens: Canon RF 15-35mm
Port: Aquatech dome port
The 15-35mm is particularly useful for the way I photograph underwater because I can get close to my subject while still capturing plenty of the surrounding water.
And getting close underwater matters.
The less water between your lens and your subject, the more light and colour you can retain, while also creating that immersive feeling that makes an underwater portrait feel completely different from a photograph taken on land.

This is worth mentioning because an underwater housing isn’t necessarily one-size-fits-all.
Aquatech housings are designed for shallow-water photography, with a depth rating around 10 metres / 33 feet.
For the kind of photography I do, this is perfect.
Most of my work is underwater portraits, maternity sessions, creative projects and occasionally photographing wildlife in that relatively shallow zone.
In fact, so much of the magic of underwater photography happens within those first few metres. This is where you get beautiful natural light filtering through the surface, movement in the water and those gorgeous sunlit conditions that I love to work with.
If your goal is deep scuba diving photography at significant depths, an Aquatech housing may not be the right choice for you. There are other housing systems specifically designed for deeper diving.
But if you’re a photographer wanting to create underwater portraits, creative imagery, surface-level work or photograph marine life in that magical 10-metre zone, this style of housing makes a lot of sense.

Well… I’ve been using it solidly for the last 10 years.
I bought my first housing myself, at full price.
I used it until I changed camera systems.
And when I upgraded my camera, I bought another Aquatech housing.
I’m not saying Aquatech is the only underwater housing option out there. It isn’t.
But if you’re looking for an underwater housing from someone who actually uses this equipment regularly for professional underwater portrait photography, it’s the system I’ve personally trusted for the last decade.
I’m also not interested in constantly changing gear just for the sake of having the newest thing.
If something works, I want to use the hell out of it.
As an Aquatech ambassador, I do have an affiliate link and a discount code that you can use if you’re shopping for your own setup.
JASMINE5 gives you 5% off Aquatech.
The code is available throughout the year and can also be used on top of Aquatech sale pricing, so it is definitely worth trying the code if you’re purchasing during one of their sales.
You can browse the Aquatech range here:

And just so we’re completely transparent, if you purchase using my discount code, I do earn a small commission at no additional cost to you.
But I didn’t start using Aquatech because I was an ambassador.
I started using it because I bought the gear myself, trusted it with my very expensive camera, used it for years and then chose the same brand again when I upgraded my camera system.
For me, that’s a recommendation I can genuinely stand behind.
