Underneath was a dual project born from one truth: every woman holds an entire world beneath the surface, waiting to be seen. Where growth, vulnerability and divine femmine were celebrated.
Between 2022-2023, this work unfolded in two distinct but deeply connected chapters.
UNDERNEATH THE BOOK — 63 WOMEN, SEEN AS ART
The Underneath book brings together the stories and underwater portraits of 63 women who stepped into the water not just to be photographed, but to be witnessed. Each woman was invited to see herself as art-beyond the roles, expectations, perfectionism, or pressures she carries on land.
Underwater, something shifts. Breath slows. Noise dissolves. The body softens into truth.
These portraits honour that rare moment where vulnerability becomes power, where a woman is held-literally and metaphorically-by something bigger than herself.
This book isn’t about looking perfect. It’s about looking real. It’s a celebration of bravery, reclamation, and the quiet, personal magic that rises when a woman chooses to be seen.
UNDERNEATH THE EXHIBITION -
Running alongside the book, the UNDERNEATH exhibition showcases a separate body of personal work created with experienced underwater models and athletes.
These images became my permission slip to experiment, break rules, and push my creativity to its edge. Through them, I explored movement, colour, symbolism, and emotion in ways I’d never attempted before-searching for my truest artistic voice beneath the surface.
This series represents evolution. It’s where intuition led, where artistry expanded, and where I allowed myself to create without boundaries or expectation.
Together, the book and exhibition formed a complete picture: a celebration of womanhood, creativity, and the transformative nature of water.
UNDERNEATH is not just something you look at-it’s something you feel.
An invitation inward.
A mirror.
A moment to see yourself, and the world, differently..

There wasnt a dry eye in the room- i was honestly lost for words and losing my voice but i couldn't have asked for a more special evening celebrating the end of this project!
Thank you to everyone who said yes to being in this book, everyone who came to witness them! Thank you to the kizomba community, and to my dear friends Rachel Callander who MC'd the evening to perfection. And Nathan Maddigan who supported me through the whole book design process (which took mannnny hours!).
It was overwhelming, and beautiful, and probably the best night ever in history. Thank you to everyone who supported this dream and my art. Especially to my family and friends who did so much behind the scenes!
